Physical dispute at Mexican Senate meeting

KABUL: A session of the Mexican Senate on Wednesday turned into a physical altercation between members of the opposition and the ruling party.

In videos that surfaced, Senate President and member of the ruling Morena party, Gerardo Fernández Noronha, was seen engaging in a physical scuffle with an opposition member, Moreno, following a heated verbal exchange.

Noronha claims that Moreno threatened to kill him, while Moreno contends that Noronha started the attack.

The Senate President announced plans to hold an emergency meeting to investigate the incident, stating that, in addition to Moreno, a proposal will be made to expel three members from the PRI party from the Senate.
