Around 150 kilograms of opium seized in Badakhshan

FAIZABAD: The Counter-Narcotics police personnel of Badakhshan province have seized 149 kilograms of opium in two separate operations in the province.
The Badakhshan police command’s press office said in a statement on Saturday, 31 kilograms of opium were seized from the outskirts of Argo district, while an additional 118 kilograms were found in the Darayem district.
The police have arrested two individuals suspected of transporting this quantity of opium, and necessary investigations into the detainees have begun.
Officials from both districts have expressed their serious commitment to effectively combating all forms of narcotics.
This comes just three days after the counter-narcotics police in Baghlan province seized several kilograms of opium from a vehicle in the Doshakh area of the Khenjan district.
