KABUL: In an update on the casualties from the deadly earthquake in eastern provinces, the Ministry of Interior has reported that 610 people have lost their lives and 1,300 have been injured.
Mufti Abdul Mateen Qani, spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior, in a statement said today, that Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani, the acting Minister of Interior, has instructed local officials, including governors, police commanders, and service forces, to spare no effort in addressing the needs of the victims.
The spokesperson emphasized that, following this directive, security, service, medical, transportation, and food teams, as well as rescue teams, have been deployed to the affected areas.
He highlighted that the aim of these actions is to provide immediate and timely assistance to those impacted by the earthquake.
Meanwhile, the country’s security and defense forces have begun aiding the victims following this catastrophic event.
