Deadly earthquakes claimed over 20 lives, injured nearly 100 in Nangarhar and Kunar

KABUL: A 6.0 magnitude earthquake has struck eastern Afghanistan, particularly affecting Nangarhar and Kunar provinces, resulting in significant damage.
So far, 23 people have lost their lives, and around 100 others have been injured.
The earthquake occurred late at night on Sunday. The U.S. Geological Survey reported that the quake registered at 6.0, followed by two aftershocks measuring 4.5 and 5.2.
Since the onset of this natural disaster, varying reports have emerged regarding its impact.
Radio Omid local reporter in eastern Afghanistan stated that initial aid has reached the affected areas, and rescue teams from other provinces have begun deploying.
Local sources in Kunar and Nangarhar indicate that the casualty figures may rise.
In Nangarhar, the Dara Noor district has suffered the most damage.
Videos shared from the incident show local residents and rescue teams working overnight to take out victims from the rubble.
