Macron in discussion with Trump expresses concern over Israel’s attack on Qatar
KABUL: Emmanuel Macron and Donald Trump, the Presidents of France and the U.S., spoke by phone about recent developments in the Middle East and Ukraine.
In a message on X, President Macron announced the discussion, stating that he shared his concerns about the situation in the Middle East following Israel’s airstrikes against senior Hamas officials in Doha, Qatar.
He also noted that they discussed the troubling developments in Russia’s aggressive war against Ukraine, particularly following the entry of Russian drones into Polish territory. Macron described the cooperation between Americans and Europeans on both fronts as “vital.”
Reports indicate that 15 Israeli fighter jets participated in the recent attack on Hamas leaders in Doha, launching eight precision-guided bombs at the related office.
This attack, which resulted in the deaths of five members of that office, has faced strong international backlash.
