Moscow: Kyiv interested in continuing war and not seeking peace

KABUL: Vassily Nebenzia, Russia’s permanent representative to the United Nations, recently claimed that Ukraine is not interested in peace and is keen on continuing the war.

The Russian state-run TASS news agency reported on Saturday, that during a session of the UN Security Council, Nebenzia also asserted that the popularity of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has plummeted, and the continuation of the war has become a “tool for his political survival.”

He stated, “The Kyiv regime has never shown a desire for peace, and everything it does is merely to prolong the war, maintain power, and exploit its Western supporters further.”

According to this senior Russian diplomat, President Zelensky rejects Vladimir Putin’s proposal to travel to Moscow for peace talks while continuing to visit European capitals.

This come as the U.S. President Donald Trump expressing that his patience with Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding the Ukraine war has worn thin.
