KABUL: The Ministry of National Defense said in a statement today that the personnel of the 205th Al-Badr Army Corps have discovered and seized a huge amount of weapons and ammunition on the main road between Kandahar and Spin Boldak.
According to the ministry, these weapons and ammunition were being transported in a vehicle and were seized based on intelligence reports.
The seized items include M4s, Kalashnikovs, grenades, 2,868 various bullets, five telescopes, seven M4 scopes, one mine detector, 34 types of magazines, and 731 assorted weapon parts.
Additionally, two individuals were detained in connection with the seized arms and ammunition, and they will be handed over to judicial authorities after initial investigations.
Efforts are underway by the Ministry of Defense to uncover and confiscate illegally held weapons and ammunition in various provinces and districts.
