Earthquake of 4.9 magnitude strikes Eastern Afghanistan; 15 injured and damaged several homes

JALALABAD: Local officials in Nangarhar province have confirmed that a 4.9 magnitude earthquake has shaken the region, causing damage to several residential homes.
The press office of the Nangarhar governor reported that the earthquake occurred at 3:21 PM Tuesday.
Health officials in Nangarhar confirmed that, so far, 15 individuals from the Dara Noor district have been transported to the provincial hospital in Jalalabad due to injuries sustained in the quake.
The statement indicated that the earthquake struck at a depth of 10 kilometers.
While the report confirmed that several families in the Dara Noor district were affected, details regarding the extent of the damage are still under investigation.
Previous reports have indicated that earthquakes have also been felt in other eastern provinces, including Kunar, Nangarhar, and Laghman.
