FAIZABAD: The police in Badakhshan province have announced the recovery of $400,000 in cash and stolen gold belonging to a money changer in the center of the province.
The press office of the Badakhshan police said that the cash and gold of Haji Yasin, a money changer from Faizabad city, were stolen during an armed attack while he was returning home.
The statement noted that the recovered stolen items included 2.638 kilograms of gold bars, $28,325 in cash, over 2.2 million Afghanis, and 1,000 euros.
Additionally, the Badakhshan police reported that two of the main robbers were arrested by police forces along with the recovered items. The police also seized two pistols and ammunition from the arrested individuals.
This recovery comes as security forces continue to express their commitment to protecting the lives and property of the people.
