KABUL: A five-member team of wrestlers from the Afghan Wrestling Federation left Kabul today for Bahrain to participate in the 2025 Asian Youth Championships.
According to a statement from the General Directorate of Olympic, Physical Education, and Sports, the team includes Hayatullah Rahmani, the president of the National Wrestling Federation, one coach, and three athletes.
In the third round of the 2025 Asian Youth Championships, fifty athletes from Afghanistan will compete in eight sports disciplines.
The championships will feature around 2,000 athletes competing in 27 different sports.
Previously, Afghan wrestlers have succeeded in winning bronze medals in these competitions by overcoming their opponents.
