KABUL: In their first match at the 2025 Asian Youth Futsal Championships, Afghanistan’s U-17 national futsal team achieved a stunning victory over Uzbekistan, winning with a score of 10 to 2.
The General Directorate of Olympic, Physical Education, and Sports said in a statement on Saturday that the Afghan futsal players showcased impressive skills and an exciting game, marking a powerful debut in the tournament.
The U-17 national futsal team is set to compete today against the host team, Bahrain, in their second match.
The futsal competitions are part of the 2025 Asian Youth Championships, featuring eight countries divided into two groups of four teams. Afghanistan’s U-17 national futsal team is in Group A alongside Bahrain, China, and Uzbekistan.
