KABUL: Russian officials have recently stated that the country anticipates the war in Ukraine will conclude within the next year.
Reuters citing Kirill Dmitriev, a special representative of the Russian President, reported on Wednesday night.
Mr. Dmitriev, who traveled to Saudi Arabia to participate in an investment conference, responded to a question regarding the potential end of the war in Ukraine by saying, “I believe so.”
He added, “We are confident that we are on the path to peace, and as peace-seekers, we must bring it to fruition.”
Kirill Dmitriev has just returned from a trip to Washington, where he held meetings with American officials.
The remarks come as the recent planned meeting between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, which was intended for discussions on the fate of the war in Ukraine, has been canceled.
