KUNDUZ: A standard cold storage facility named “Adas” has been inaugurated and put into operation in Kunduz province.
According to Radio Omid correspondent, during a ceremony held on this occasion today was attended by local officials.
The facility, located in the center of Imam Sahib district of Kunduz, has been constructed at a cost of 42 million Afghanis and has a capacity to store 1,000 tons of fruits and vegetables.
Officials stated that the cold storage will preserve fruits and vegetables, describing it as unique in the northeastern region of the country.
One of the cold storage administrators mentioned that the activation of this facility will play a significant role in preventing the loss of agricultural products, stabilizing market prices, improving the quality of stored goods, and increasing farmers’ incomes.
Mawlavi Habib-ur-Rahman Sahib, the Deputy Governor of Kunduz, welcomed the opening of this cold storage and urged other investors to take advantage of the available opportunities for investment in various sectors.
It is noteworthy that the office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs exempts investors who invest in the establishment of cold storage facilities from taxation for five years.
