KABUL: Police spokesman of Nangarhar Sayed Tayeb Hammad said in a statement today that as a result of the explosion of a gas balloon at least 14 people were injured.
According to him, the explosion occurred at a hotel in the “Spin Khwar” village of the Batikot district, and the injured individuals were hotel employees.
He noted that the incident began with a gas pipe leak that led to a fire, which subsequently caused the balloon to explode due to high temperatures.
The statement also mentioned that security forces arrived at the scene promptly and transported the injured to nearby medical facilities after providing first aid.
Explosions from gas balloons have previously led to casualties and injuries in residential areas.
