KABUL: The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriations said in a statement today that 123 Afghans have been freed from prisons in Pakistan and have returned to their country.
According to the statement, the individuals had spent between 2 days and 2 months in Pakistani prisons after being detained by the police.
The statement indicated that the released Afghan citizens were registered and documented upon their arrival in Afghanistan and were subsequently transferred to their original places of residence.
This comes amid recent appeals from the Afghan government urging the Pakistani authorities to cease harassment and detention of Afghan migrants in the country.
