Helmand Police rescue two kidnapped individuals, arrest five suspects

LASHKAR GAH: Police personnel of Helmand have rescued two individuals from the clutches of kidnappers.

The media office of the Helmand governor said in a statement on Sunday night, that the rescue operation was carried out based on intelligence information in the Sangin district of Helmand.

During the operation, five kidnappers were arrested, along with one gun and a vehicle.

According to the report, the abductors had kidnapped these two individuals from the area near Lashkar Gah, the capital of Helmand province, a few days ago. Local officials stated that the kidnappers had demanded 10 million Afghani from the families of the victims.

The rescued individuals were handed over to their families by Mullah Aminullah Zubair, the Helmand Police Commander.

The fight against kidnapping gangs remains a priority for the country’s defense, security, and intelligence agencies.

Recently, a businessman was also rescued from kidnappers by police forces in Kabul in a special operation.
