First Advanced Surgery Center to be opened in Kabul

KABUL: Officials from the Ministry of Public Health have announced that a comprehensive advanced surgery center will be inaugurated in the country for the first time.

According to Radio Omid correspondent, the center is set to open today on the sidelines of the inaugural International Chest Surgery Conference in Kabul.

Dr. Rahmatullah Athar, responsible for the first chest surgery conference, stated that the opening of the center will play a significant role in the treatment of complex diseases in the future.

The inaugural conference features the presence of Professor Diego Gonzalez Rivas from Spain, high-ranking officials from the Ministry of Public Health, the Medical Council, the Afghanistan Surgeons Association, esteemed medical institutions, and several doctors.

During the conference, Professor Gonzalez is expected to discuss advanced chest surgeries, cancer treatment, and respiratory pathways.

It appears that the Ministry of Public Health aims to enhance capabilities for treating various cancer-related diseases domestically and to improve local medical personnel through this initiative.
