Contracts signed for five major power production projects between DABS and Azizi Group

KABUL: The contracts for five power production projects using solar and coal resources have been signed between officials of Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) and Azizi Group in Kabul, the Office of the Deputy PM for Economic Affairs said in a statement today.
According to the statement, the contracts were signed in the presence of Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, and several other senior government officials.
Based on the signed contracts, Azizi Group will produce 100 megawatts of electricity in the “Naghlu” area, 100 megawatts in the “Barikab” region of Parwan, 130 megawatts in Ghazni province, and 165 megawatts in Takhar province, all using solar energy.
Additionally, over the next three years, the company will produce another 350 megawatts of electricity in Baghlan province using coal as a resource.
The statement stated that the projects will be constructed with a total investment of $463 million, equivalent to 30 billion Afghanis.
This comes as efforts to attract both domestic and foreign investments in various sectors, including electricity, continue in the country.
