KABUL: A total of 162 development projects valued at 295 million Afghanis have been completed and inaugurated in the country’s Laghman province, the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development said in a statement to Radio Omid on Tuesday.
According to a statement, the projects included the construction of rural roads, irrigation canals, and protective walls have been implemented across various areas of Alingar district through the provincial office of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development.
The projects have helped address some environmental challenges faced by local residents, said the statement, adding that during the implementation of these public-welfare projects employment opportunities have been provided to dozens of local residents.
Laghman, known for its green and mountainous terrain in eastern Afghanistan, is home to the well-known Alingar district.
