Indian businessman to launch precious stones exhibition hall in Afghanistan

KABUL: An Indian businessman has announced plans to establish a showroom dedicated to Afghanistan’s precious and semi-precious stones, according to the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.
Ankush Satana made the remarks during a meeting with Nooruddin Azizi, Minister of Industry and Commerce expressing readiness to launch the exhibition hall to promote Afghan gemstones, the ministry said in a statement on Thursday.
Satana also said he was prepared to connect Afghan traders with India’s pharmaceutical sector and to facilitate the transfer of a newly developed German technology designed to extract large quantities of diesel fuel from plastic waste collected from garbage.
Azizi welcomed the initiative and pledged full support for the proposed projects. He described Afghanistan as a country rich in opportunities and said the private sector is active and prepared to cooperate with foreign investors.
In recent months, Afghan authorities have reported growing interest from foreign investors and traders seeking opportunities in the country.
The Islamic Emirate has also announced a range of privileges aimed at attracting both domestic and international investment.
