KABUL: The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriations, in a statement said today that 75 Afghans were released from Pakistani prisons and returned home.
According to the statement, the individuals were freed over the past week and entered Afghanistan through the Spin Boldak border crossing.
The released individuals had been imprisoned in Pakistan for periods ranging from 1 to 60 days, the statement said, adding that after registration and documentation by the Reception and Registration Committee, they were sent to their home provinces.
Earlier this week, Pakistani media reported that around 100 Afghan citizens were detained during nighttime police operations in various areas of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
