IEA spokesperson: Afghan Forces foil Pakistani airstrike attempt

KABUL: Mawlavi Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, said Afghan defensive forces have thwarted an attempted bombing by the Pakistani military.

In a post published early Sunday on X, Mujahid assured the public not to be concerned, stating that the situation is under control and security is being maintained.

He said Afghan forces neutralized what he described as an effort by the Pakistani military regime to carry out airstrikes, adding that the sounds of heavy weapons currently being heard are part of defensive measures.

The remarks come after Afghan forces reportedly seized numerous Pakistani military posts in various provinces overnight as part of Operation “Radd al-Zulm.”
