Agriculture Minister meets TAPI Project Chief to discuss land acquisition

KABUL: Ataullah Omari, Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock of Afghanistan, held talks with Murad Amanov, head of the TAPI Pipeline Project, on land acquisition for the pipeline route.

According to a statement from the ministry, the meeting took place at Minister Omari’s office and was also attended by Khoja Ovezov, Turkmenistan’s ambassador to Afghanistan.

The talks focused on the process of acquiring land along the pipeline’s route inside Afghanistan, including discussions on fair pricing for affected landowners and accelerating the acquisition process.

The meeting follows a recent visit by a delegation from the ministry’s land authority to Herat province, where officials met with the provincial governor regarding the project.

Currently, Work on extending the TAPI pipeline inside Afghanistan is progressing rapidly, particularly in Herat, where construction is expected to be completed later this year.
