UK plans additional £3 million aid package for Afghanistan

KABUL: Richard Lindsay, the UK’s special representative for Afghanistan, said the United Kingdom is preparing an additional £3 million (around 257 million Afghanis) in aid for the people of Afghanistan.
In a post on X, Lindsay said on Tuesday that the funding will support the provision of essential food supplies and assist people affected by natural disasters and other crises.
He added that with this package, the UK’s total bilateral aid to Afghanistan for the current financial year will reach £154 million.
The support is aimed at helping the most vulnerable populations, particularly those impacted by recent natural disasters, including deadly earthquakes that affected thousands of families in the eastern and northern parts of the country.
