Key Bamyan–Kabul highway reopens after flood disruption

KABUL: The country’s Ministry of National Defense says a major highway linking central provinces has been reopened after being blocked by floods.
According to a ministry statement, technical teams cleared the Bamyan–Parwan–Kabul highway, which had been closed due to heavy rains and flooding in the Shinwari area of the Ghorband Valley in Parwan Province.
The ministry said engineering personnel and machinery were deployed promptly to the area, and the road was reopened after clearance and repair work.
The highway connects provinces of Bamyan, Parwan, and Kabul, and is considered a key transport and transit route.
Its closure had significantly disrupted travel and the movement of goods between the regions.
