KABUL: State media in Iran reported that Majid Khadami, head of the intelligence organization of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), has died.
Tasnim News Agency said Monday that Khadami lost his life, while Israel Katz, Israel’s defense minister, confirmed he was dead in an Israeli airstrike earlier in the day.
Earlier reports had indicated that Khadami’s location was targeted in a morning strike.
Khadami had been appointed to the role following the death of Mohammad Kazemi, the previous IRGC intelligence chief, during a 12-day conflict between Israel and Iran.
