Nearly 3,000 Afghans forcibly expelled from Pakistan entered Afghanistan in single day

KABUL: The High Commission for Addressing Refugees Issues said in a statement today that 2,784 Afghan migrants were expelled from Pakistan and returned to Afghanistan in a single day.

The report states that the migrants reentered Afghanistan yesterday (Wednesday) via the Torkham crossing in Nangarhar province and the Spin Boldak crossing in Kandahar province.

Of the returnees, 2,509 arrived through Torkham and 275 through Spin Boldak.

The newly returned migrants were received by the commission’s registration committee, and after receiving necessary humanitarian assistance they were dispatched to their home areas.

The commission also noted that the forced expulsions of Afghan migrants continue daily and without interruption.
