Afghan Forces seize dozens of kg of drugs in Nangarhar

NANGARHAR: Afghan security forces have seized more than 41 kilograms of narcotics during an operation in Nangarhar province, officials said.
According to Mawlavi Wahidullah Mohammadi, spokesperson for the 201st Khalid bin Walid Army Corps, during the operation 41.4 kilograms of various drugs, along with 2,950 smuggled medical tablets were seized in the Dur Baba District, where the narcotics were reportedly being transported across the Durand Line, while the tablets were intended for smuggling into Afghanistan.
The seized drugs included 8.4 kilograms of hashish, 23 kilograms of methamphetamine, and 10 kilograms of heroin.
No details were provided on whether any suspects were arrested in connection with the case.
The development comes days after Afghan forces reported the arrest of two individuals for allegedly smuggling 16 kilograms of narcotics in Herat province.
