GARDIZ: The Paktia police forces have rescued a newborn baby who was abducted from the maternity ward of a provincial hospital a month ago.
According to a statement from the provincial police command, the child was recovered safe and healthy and later reunited with his family, and two suspects, including a woman, have been arrested.
The detainees have reportedly confessed to the crime during preliminary interrogations.
Officials said the rescue was carried out based on precise intelligence, as part of broader efforts to combat kidnapping networks, which remain a priority for security agencies in the country.
