Afghanistan seeks stability, Interior Minister tells Chinese ambassador

KABUL: Zhao Xing, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Afghanistan, met with Interior Minister Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani, here in Kabul, officials said.
Mufti Abdul Matin Qani, spokesperson for the Interior Ministry said in a statement today that the two sides discussed regional developments and bilateral relations.
During the meeting, Afghan officials emphasized that the country is seeking overall stability and is focused on addressing internal challenges and improving public welfare.
The expansion of ties between Kabul and Beijing was also among the key topics of discussion.
The meeting comes as China has recently hosted talks involving Afghan and Pakistani delegations and continues diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting regional peace and cooperation.
