KABUL: A delegation, led by Mali Khan Sadiq, Deputy Chief of Army Staff, accompanied by Mawlavi Mohammad Nezami, Deputy Commander of the 201 Khalid bin Walid Army Corps, and some other military officials, visited frontline military positions along the Durand Line.
According to a statement from Wahidullah Mohammadi, spokesman of the 201st Khalid bin Walid Army Corps, the delegation inspected defensive outposts along the border and praised troops for their efforts in safeguarding the country’s territorial integrity. Also, they provided their guidance and recommendations to the forces on duty.
During their visit, the officials also went to the provincial hospital in Kunar, where they met civilians injured in the recent shelling. Sadiq expressed sympathy with the victims and their families, reaffirming the government’s commitment to defending the country and its people.
He also provided financial assistance to those hospitalized.
The visit follows earlier efforts by local military commanders to check on civilians wounded in the attacks.
