KABUL: Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, met with Richard Lindsay, the United Kingdom’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, to discuss enhancing cooperation and coordination between Afghanistan and the international community.
According to a statement from the deputy PM office on Thursday, the talks in Kabul focused on expanding bilateral engagement and the continuation of British humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people.
Baradar noted that Afghanistan’s economic situation has improved compared to the past and highlighted the expansion of economic cooperation between Kabul and neighboring and regional countries.
During the meeting, Lindsay expressed condolences to Afghan families affected by recent attacks attributed to Pakistani military forces and reaffirmed the United Kingdom’s commitment to continue assisting the Afghan population.
Lindsay has been in Kabul in recent days, holding meetings with senior officials of the Islamic Emirate.
