Kazakhstan’s grain exports to Afghanistan surge over fourfold in 2026

KABUL: Kazakhstan has significantly increased its grain exports to Afghanistan, with shipments rising more than fourfold in 2026, according to official data.
State news agency Kazinform, citing Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Transport, reported Monday that grain exports to Afghanistan reached 302,000 tons in the first three months of the year, showing an increase of 4.2 times compared to the same period last year.
The report also noted that Kazakhstan’s total grain exports to global markets rose by 15% at the same period.
Kazakhstan, a Central Asian country, maintains growing political, trade, and economic ties with Afghanistan, with agricultural exports forming a key part of bilateral cooperation.
