KABUL: Afghanistan’s Standards and Quality Authority (ASQA) says it has returned a shipment of low-quality construction materials to Iran after failing to meet required standards.
According to a statement released Tuesday, the shipment, containing 9.1 tons of ceramic tiles was inspected at the Shaikh Abu Nasr Farahi Port and deemed non-compliant with national quality regulations and returned to Iran.
Officials said the rejection is part of ongoing efforts to ensure that imported construction materials meet domestic standards and do not enter local markets if found to be of low quality.
The authority emphasized that inspections at all border crossings continue in a “transparent, systematic, and decisive” manner.
