70 historical sites registered across Afghanistan in 1404

KABUL: The Ministry of Information and Culture says 70 historical sites were officially registered across the country over the past solar year (1404), with 15 additional sites newly identified.

In a statement released Wednesday, the ministry said that alongside the registrations, 23 historical monuments were restored in provinces including Kandahar, Bamyan, Ghazni, Kunar, Laghman, Paktia, Paktika, Helmand, and Kabul provinces.

Officials added that restoration work is ongoing at several other heritage sites.

The ministry also noted that four national and international organizations cooperated with the Directorate for the Protection of Historical Monuments during the year to support preservation efforts.
