Residential plots distributed to earthquake victims in Kunar

KABUL: The Ministry of Urban Development and Housing said in a statement today that residential plots have been distributed to a number of earthquake-affected families from Kunar province in neighboring Nangarhar province.

According to the statement, the plots have been allocated across 1,000 jeribs of land in a newly developed township located in the Gambiri area of Shewa District.

“The township has been designed based on standard urban planning and includes essential infrastructure such as roads, as well as facilities like a school, madrassa, mosque, health clinic, and cemetery,” said the statement.

Housing Minister Najibullah Hayat Haqqani said the initiative aims to provide a safe and dignified living environment for earthquake victims and help them become self-reliant members of society.

The project follows a devastating earthquake last year in  in which more than 2,000 people were martyred and thousands of homes were destroyed.
