KABUL: Following the forced deportation of Afghan migrants, Pakistan deported 4,413 Afghan migrants in a single day.
The High Commission for Addressing Migrant Issues said in its daily report on Saturday that the deportees returned to Afghanistan the previous day (Friday) through the border crossings of Torkham in Nangarhar and Spin Boldak.
According to the report, 4,110 people entered through Torkham and 303 others through Spin Boldak after being expelled from Pakistan.
The commission said returnees were received by its registration committee and, after receiving humanitarian assistance, were transported to their respective home provinces.
Afghanistan’s Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation also reported the release of nearly 500 Afghan citizens from Pakistani prisons on Thursday.
