Efforts underway to employ more than 1.4 million Afghans, officials say

KABUL: Mawlavi Mohammad Zahid Ahmadi, deputy Minister of Labour and Social Affairs, says efforts are underway to create employment opportunities for more than 1.465 million people across Afghanistan.

Speaking at a conference announcing 1,060 vacant positions, he said the ministry has been working to provide job opportunities for young people and continues to prioritize employment initiatives according to Radio Omid’s correspondent.

Ahmadi said several sectoral institutions have pledged to recruit around 1.465 million people.

He added that there are currently 52 active vocational training centers operating across the country, where thousands of young Afghans are receiving professional and technical training.

Ahmadi also called on all institutions to make greater efforts to create jobs and expand employment opportunities for the country’s youth.

This comes as the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, are trying to provide job opportunities for Afghans inside and outside the country.
