KABUL: Spokesman of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Enayatullah Alokozai, has rejected reports claiming that fiber-optic internet services would be cut off across the country, describing the claims as “rumors.”
He said today that no decision had been made to suspend fiber-optic internet services for the general public and that the circulating reports were false.
Alokozai urged the public not to believe “baseless and inaccurate rumors,” stressing that the ministry strongly rejects such claims.
Earlier, some media outlets and social media users had reported that the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology had ordered the disconnection of fiber-optic internet services to homes.
