Afghanistan has unique tourist destinations, visitors should be treated equally, Azizi

KABUL: Afghanistan possesses unique natural attractions for tourism, and visitors should receive services without discrimination based on religion or ethnicity, a senior Afghan official said Tuesday.

The remarks were made by Mawlavi Atiqullah Azizi, the Information and Culture Deputy Minister for Art and Culture, during the closing ceremony of a three-day seminar organized for representatives of tourism, pilgrimage, medical travel, Hajj, and Umrah companies.

According to Radio Omid correspondent, Azizi said participants should make effective use of the knowledge gained during the seminar to expand Afghanistan’s tourism sector.

He noted that Afghanistan is a country where nearly every region contains natural beauty and unique tourist destinations, while many countries rely on artificially created attractions.

“Most areas of Afghanistan are naturally beautiful and remarkable,” he said.

Azizi stressed that Afghanistan’s historical heritage and natural landscapes require greater attention to tourism development in order to attract foreign visitors and provide them with better facilities and services.

He also emphasized that tourists visiting Afghanistan should be offered quality services and facilities regardless of religious or ethnic differences.
