KABUL: Afghan and Azerbaijani officials have emphasized the importance of expanding bilateral cooperation during an official visit by an Afghan delegation to Azerbaijan.
According to Afghanistan’s National Environmental Protection Agency, its Director General, Mati-ul-Haq Khalis, and an accompanying delegation visited the state-owned Tamiz Shahar company during their trip.
Officials from Tamiz Shahar briefed the Afghan delegation on their experience in waste management, environmental protection, and the use of modern technologies in urban sanitation.
The two sides also discussed cooperation in environmental protection, urban cleanliness, and the expansion of joint initiatives, while stressing the importance of exchanging expertise and experiences.
According to the statement, the Afghan delegation also visited an urban exhibition held within the framework of the World Urban Forum 13.
Representatives of UN-Habitat additionally presented information about Afghanistan’s environmental and urban conditions, development needs, and prospects for future cooperation during the exhibition.
