KABUL: Mirdif Al-Qashouti, Qatar’s ambassador to Kabul, has pledged cultural cooperation with Afghanistan during a visit to the National Archives of the Ministry of Information and Culture of Afghanistan.
According to a statement from the ministry, the Qatari ambassador committed support for the restoration and preservation of historical documents and ancient manuscripts housed at Afghanistan’s National Archives.
Meanwhile, Qari Obaidullah Hanif said the institution possesses a rich collection of historical documents, manuscripts, and archaeological materials, but many of them require urgent restoration and preservation work.
Hanif called on relevant institutions to cooperate in protecting and rehabilitating Afghanistan’s historical records and cultural heritage.
The statement added that both sides emphasized the importance of continued cultural cooperation between Afghanistan and Qatar, particularly in the fields of manuscript restoration and preservation of historical archives.
