GARDEZ: The Paktia Department of Information and Culture has announced the identification of a new historical and recreational site named “Bahlol Dana” in the Aryob Zazai District for tourism development.
A delegation led by Mawlavi Faizullah Johari visited the area and said the site holds special tourism value because of its green mountains, scenic natural landscapes, and peaceful environment.
Officials said the area had long been known in local folklore and that efforts are now underway to officially develop it as a tourist destination and provide facilities for visitors.
The province’s tourism director also described the “Biswa” area in Gardez Tsamkani District as another suitable recreational destination.
He added that ongoing construction work on the Gardez-Patan Highway would help create opportunities for hotels and other tourism-related services in the Spin Shaga area once completed.
Meanwhile, local officials say the number of domestic tourists visiting Paktia province has increased in recent months, and the identification of new recreational sites is expected to further expand the tourism sector.
Paktia is known for its cool climate, mountainous regions, and natural beauty, attracting many visitors each year.
