Qatar reaffirms commitment to peaceful resolution of conflicts, including Afghanistan

KABUL: Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani, Qatar’s Permanent Representative at the United Nations, has said that Qatar remains committed to mediation and diplomatic efforts aimed at the peaceful resolution of international conflicts, including those in Afghanistan, the Gaza Strip, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Speaking at a United Nations meeting, Al-Thani described the Doha Agreement as one of Qatar’s notable mediation achievements, adding that the growing number of conflicts and crises around the world has increased the need for preventive diplomacy.

She emphasized the importance of dialogue and mediation in addressing disputes and reducing tensions in conflict-affected regions.

In recent years, Qatar has played a significant mediating role in Afghan political developments and international engagement, with the Doha process widely regarded as a key stage in diplomatic efforts related to Afghanistan.
