HERAT: The International Committee of the Red Cross has distributed more than 3,000 hygiene and health kits to inmates at the provincial prison in Herat.
In a statement posted on X, the organization said the packages included soap, toothpaste, laundry detergent, and other essential hygiene items.
According to the ICRC, the assistance is intended to improve health conditions and support better living standards for people in detention.
The organization noted that access to basic hygiene supplies plays an important role in protecting the well-being of prisoners and helping maintain sanitary conditions within correctional facilities.
