KABUL: The High Commission for Addressing Refugee Issues has said in a statement that 616 Afghan refugee families, comprising 3,270 individuals, returned to the country through various border crossings in a single day and received necessary assistance upon arrival.
According to the statement, 532 families were transported to their home areas, cash assistance was provided to 551 families, and 616 SIM cards with active service packages were distributed to returnees.
The Commission for Permanent Settlement and Land Distribution also allocated residential land plots to 898 returning families in the provinces of Nangarhar, Ghazni, Farah, Helmand, Faryab, Paktika, and Nimroz.
The commission stated that the total number of residential plots distributed to returning refugees has now reached 40,413, adding that support programs for returnees continue across the country.
