Discussions held on humanitarian aid in Afghanistan and UNAMA activities

KABUL: Foreign Affairs Minister Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi held a telephone conversation with the UN Deputy Secretary-General and Special Envoy for Political Affairs and Peacebuilding, Rosemary DiCarlo.

The ministry stated in a statement that during the call, discussions were held regarding the delivery of humanitarian assistance to needy Afghans and ways to further improve the effectiveness of aid flow.

According to the statement, Rosemary DiCarlo praised the facilities and cooperation provided by the Islamic Emirate for humanitarian activities, describing them as important for the timely and effective delivery of aid.

Additionally, the UN Deputy Secretary-General shared the latest developments regarding UNAMA and provided information on the United Nations’ ongoing efforts in Afghanistan.

Both sides also emphasized the continuation of mutual understanding, constructive engagement, and the expansion of cooperation.
