KABUL: The Ministry of Public Health has signed an agreement with the Welfare Organization for Poverty Reduction and Advocacy (WOPRA) to strengthen the capacity of Herat Regional Hospital in the control and management of diabetes.
According to a statement posted by the ministry, the agreement, worth $23,438, will be implemented over one year.
Under the agreement, the hospital’s capacity to provide diabetes control and management services will be enhanced, while five new jobs will also be created in the health sector.
Representatives of WOPRA pledged to implement the project in line with the agreed standards within one year and said special attention would be paid to improving the capacity of Herat Regional Hospital.
