Firefighters save goods worth 480 million in Kabul market fire

KABUL: The country’s Ministry of Interior Affairs says firefighting teams successfully contained a fire at Zardad Market in Kabul’s Mandawi, preventing it from spreading.
According to the ministry, the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit, resulting in an estimated 8 million Afghanis in financial losses, while goods valued at approximately 480 million Afghanis were saved from destruction.
The Ministry of Interior also urged the public to observe safety regulations and take necessary precautions in homes, shops, warehouses, and markets to help prevent similar incidents.
