Minister Haqqani: No pressure or attack can weaken the determination of the Afghan people

KABUL: Shaikh Sher Ahmad Haqqani, Afghanistan’s Minister of Information and Culture, has stated that no form of pressure or military attack can weaken the determination of the Afghan people.

Speaking at a seminar on enhancing the intellectual, ideological, and professional capacities of journalists in Kapisa province, the minister said that those responsible for attacks that martyred Afghan children should understand that the Afghan people are not intimidated by bombings or hardship.

“We must tell those who martyred our children in their sleep through unjust bombings that we are not afraid of attacks and suffering,” he said. “We defeated forces that possessed more advanced equipment and modern weapons than you.”

He added, “We neither fear nor accept defeat.”

The remarks come after airstrikes attributed to Pakistan’s military on Sunday night targeted areas in Afghanistan’s Paktia, Paktika, and Kunar provinces, reportedly martyring 36 civilians and injuring 163 others
